Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 21, 2026

This policy explains what information NexusFactum collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language because most NexusFactum users aren't lawyers — they're people building a record.

Introduction

NexusFactum ("NexusFactum," "we," "us," or "our") is a product of 1841 Technologies, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the NexusFactum website, application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information We Collect

2.1 Account information

When you create a NexusFactum account, we collect information such as your name, email address, and password (stored in encrypted or hashed form). If you contact our support team, we may also keep a record of that communication.

2.2 Evidence and case content

NexusFactum lets you upload, organize, and export documentation, images, and other materials related to your matter ("Evidence Content"). What you upload is entirely your choice and may include sensitive personal information. We do not review Evidence Content for moderation purposes except as necessary to operate, secure, or troubleshoot the Service, or where required by law.

2.3 Payment information

Subscription payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. NexusFactum does not store full payment card numbers on its own servers. We retain limited billing metadata — such as plan tier, billing history, and transaction status — needed to administer your account.

2.4 Usage and device data

We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Service, including IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, and timestamps, in order to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

2.5 Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may limit some features.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the Service, including generating and exporting evidence documentation;
  • Process subscription payments and manage billing;
  • Authenticate your account and protect your data, including encrypted local storage of Evidence Content;
  • Communicate with you about your account, including service and billing notices and support responses;
  • Send product updates or account lifecycle emails (you can opt out of non-essential communications at any time);
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance and reliability of the Service;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information or your Evidence Content. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help us run the Service — such as our hosting and database provider, payment processor (Stripe), and transactional email provider (Resend) — each bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
  • Legal compliance — where required to comply with a valid legal process, protect the rights, property, or safety of NexusFactum, our users, or the public, or respond to a government request.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we'll provide notice before your information is transferred.
  • At your direction — when you choose to export or share your Evidence Content outside the Service, such as downloading a generated PDF report.

Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information and Evidence Content, including encryption of locally stored evidence data and access controls on our backend systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain account information and Evidence Content for as long as your account stays active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete individual pieces of Evidence Content, or request deletion of your account, at any time by contacting support@1841technologies.com. We may retain limited information after account closure where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@1841technologies.com. We'll respond in accordance with applicable law.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we've collected information from a child without parental consent, we'll take steps to delete it.

International Users

NexusFactum is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll post the updated policy with a new effective date and, where appropriate, give additional notice such as email.
